Shine! IMA intructors guide students in a vibrant and nurturing environment through an approach united by the pedagogical principles of using proper repertoire, teaching technique musically, and leading students to an understanding of the structure of music. This integrated approach to music education enables the Shine! IMA dedicated and skilled instructors to develop the emerging artistry in each student.
Learners of all ages may participate in private instrumental lessons, however we recommend children be at least 5 years old.
Our focused skill enhancement includes technique, proper embouchure, sight-reading, music theory, and audition/performance preparation.
Private lessons offered include piano, drums, guitar, and most band/orchestra instruments.
Singers from age 7 and up may train privately at the academy. Level and intensity of instruction is based on age and vocal maturity.
Lessons include work on posture, breathing, vocal placement, diction, music theory, and sight-reading skills. Performance technique and practice is also part of our teaching.
Students will prepare a repertoire book for auditions and performance, as well as vocal exercises. We recommend to bring an audio recording device to these lessons.
We offer unique classes, such as our songwriting/theory class and vocal performance class. (Songwriting/theory private lessons are also available).
Our class schedules are usually for 10-12 weeks. At the end of the term there will be a recital/performance. Class spaces are limited and organized by age and level.
